What happens on Reserve day? - inamaravati

The first semi-final of this World Cup 2019 is abandoned due to rain so the ICC has also kept a reserve day in order to overcome this situation. Due to the showers of rain yesterday the fans very disappointed as Indian bowlers performed very well. The match will resume today on the reserve day. The match will be continued today from where it halted yesterday.

The play was interrupted when New Zealand scored 215 runs in 46.1 overs in the first innings where Ross Taylor (67*) and Tom Latham (3*) are on strike. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Bumrah, Jadeja, Chahal and Hardik managed to pick one wicket each until then. The economy rates of every bowler of India were below 5. Earlier due to a quick loss of Guptill, Williamson and Nicholas built a partnership of 75 runs where Williamson scored 65 runs and Nicholas scored 37 runs.

If weather conditions permits then New Zealand will complete their 50 over innings and India too will finish their 50 overs. Depending upon the weather conditions, the match may be reduced.  In order to complete Indian innings, they need to bat at least 20 overs or else India will move on to final as they finished top in the league stage ahead of fourth-place New Zealand.

In the event of poor weather, for example, steps will be taken to be able to finish the match that day e.g. reducing the number of overs down to the minimum of 20 overs per team needed to achieve a result, or by extending the match by up to 120 min.

The match ticket for the audience is valid for both the scheduled day and also for the Reserve day. It’s better to keep their tickets for Reserve day in order to get entry into the ground. So let’s hope for the best that the Reserve day might be fetching for India to enter into the finals.
